June Cashmere. It’s more than yarn. Working directly with semi-nomadic shepherd families in Southern Kyrgyzstan toward best cashmere husbandry and fiber collection practices, we pay shepherds fair market value for their fiber. With the goal of economic development for Kyrgyzstan through its natural resource of cashmere, June Cashmere guides the transparent production chain of turning the fiber into highest-quality cashmere yarn, sold on the world market to build recognition of Kyrgyzstan as a world-class, highest-quality cashmere producer.
Because cashmere is a limited, annual resource, with goats producing roughly only 4 ounces of fiber per year with a large percentage of that weight lost in production, we believe that this precious commodity should be processed into a yarn that will last. Using only the longest and finest staples of cashmere in the milling process, our yarn has a natural hand that blooms and softens with wash and wear, yields exquisite stitch definition and drape, and results in little to no pilling over time. Offering Fingering and DK weights of yarn in unbleached, undyed natural and 15 colors dyed on top of our natural, our hues are rich and earthy. It truly is cashmere as it should be.
