Ditch the cable needle and work your cable crosses without one. We’ll start with small cables and work our way up.

Do you love gorgeous textured knits teeming with cables? Do you find that working cables slows you down too much? This class is for you, even if you are new to cabling. We will learn how to cross those cables in many configurations without the assistance of a cable needle.

When you learn this technique you can also cut out that confusing step where you have to look up the text translation of the charted symbol. Imagine cabling without having to glance over at the words all the time. You may even make fewer errors as you work.

A tidy appearance is important, too. In your ribbing and cables have you noticed that the left-most knit stitch looks sloppy? We will learn why it happens and then teach that stitch some manners! Class also includes tips for keeping track of when it’s time for that cabling action row.

What we’ll learn is nothing new to knitting. The photo accompanying this class shows some cables and an illustration from a decades-old Estonian knitting book. Fascinating!

Special skills or knowledge needed to take this class
Basic knitting skills.

Supply List
• 50 grams of smooth, light color, 3-4 ply wool or wool-blend, worsted-weight yarn.
• US 5-7 (3.75 – 4.5 mm) circular needle at least 24 inches long or straight needles or in a size appropriate for your yarn. A needle with a sharper tip will make this class much easier than a needle with a dull, rounded tip!
