Join Jill and learn the skills needed to make two-color Double Knit projects both flat and in the round. You will start simply with the rules, and finish with the techniques necessary to complete the hat pattern from class. When you are coached along the way, it’s fun and easy!
Class sessions will be recorded and remain accessible online to registered students of the class for 4 weeks following the event.

Description
Session 1: Learn the basic techniques of Double Knitting on a flat swatch as you learn how to read double-knitting charts.
Session 2: Make sure the basics are solid and review anything that is not. Learn how to bind off in color on the swatch. Learn 2-color cast-on. Discuss the differences of working Double Knitting in-the-round. Start on hat with provided pattern.
Session 3: Learn to increase and decrease in Double Knitting. Jill and how to correct mistakes.
Special skills or knowledge needed to take this workshop:
Must be able to knit, purl, cast on, and bind off.
Supply List
• 2 high-contrast colors in worsted-weight yarn for practicing, about 25 yards each
• 2 high-contrast colors of worsted-weight yarn for hat, about 115 yards each
• 16″ circular and DPN’s Needles in US 5, 6, or 7 (3.75, 4 or 4.5mm), (If you prefer, straight or longer circular needles can be used for practice. The needle size needed for the hat will be established after student learns the basics and makes a gauge swatch.)
• Knitting Basics: Sharp scissors, Notebook, Pen or pencil with eraser, Stitch markers, Tapestry needles (large and small), Tape measure, Small calculator, Crochet hook
