Description

Brioche stitch and Intarsia colorwork are best friends.

In this class, we’ll review 2-color brioche stitch, then cast on a flat swatch. You will find it is easier to do intarsia with 2-color brioche than it is with stockinette or garter stitch! Using a combination of shaping and intarsia, students will knit a wavy color swatch.

In the second half of class, students will learn how to modify their swatches and how to add intarsia elements to existing brioche patterns.

Special skills or knowledge needed to take this class:
Students should have prior experience with brioche stitch.

Don't Be Intimidated by the Name

When you see Brioche Intarsia, it sounds like it will be this super-complicated concept, but Xandy made it so easy. If you like Brioche and you like Intarsia...by all means TAKE THE CLASS!!! You will not regret it. Xandy is patient and knowledgeable, they provide clear instructions and explanation, plus they are very accessible and willing to answer any questions you have.

Brioche

The class was very good. I recently learned this technique and was a little unsure about combining two colors. The instructions are very detailed so I know with practice I will be able to figure it out. More time practicing would have been helpful. Xandy is a great instructor and very friendly and helpful. Thank you!

Great instructor!

I would definitely take a class from Xandy again; very clear instructions, LOTS of individual help - a really positive knitting experience, thank you, Xandy!

Of special note is the care given to left-handed knitters. The instructor’s awareness and sensitivity to this was greatly appreciated when so many others are ignorant or uncaring of left-handed issues.

In short, this instructor and this class is not to be missed!

Great Class, Awesome overview and patience

I learned how to do Brioche a week prior. I saw the homework assignment required me to bring in a sample. I highly recommend a little more brioche practice than what I had, but that said, I learned the fundamentals of Brioche with Intarsia. I really appreciated the pacing of the class. There were some great samples to see what could be accomplished with my new skills. The video projection was very instrumental and I appreciated the patience. Xandy was able to check in with each student, and provide 1:1 support if needed. Thank you!

Wonderful new technique!

Xandy Peters is one of the most imaginative knitters and designers working today, and this technique is brilliant! It's also quite easy if you're already comfortable with the classic brioche stitch. She explained and demonstrated everything very clearly.
