Description

In 2011, Henry and Roy Clemes were approached by Gwen Powell to create a new tool that eventually became the wildly popular Blending Board. In this two-hour, demonstration-style class, you will learn basic techniques and the use of a blending board from one of its designers. The class will not only demonstrate the versatility of the blending board in blending fibers of various types, lengths, and colors, but also show the strength of the blending board to quickly prepare fiber into rolags for woolen spinning.

Although you will learn a lot from Roy’s demonstration, if you have a Blending Board and fiber, you can work along with him.

Special skills or knowledge needed to take this class:
Basic fiber prep and spinning knowledge is a plus, but not necessary.

Optional Supply List

Blending Board Primer

Roy gave a great demonstration and thoroughly answered all questions. He responded to requests of more demonstrations of a certain technique again. I may take this class again.

Lives up to the name!

This was a great primer on blending boards! I’ve had one for years but wasn’t comfortable using it and now I feel ready to make piles and piles of rolags. Perfect amount of time, level of info, and great set up. Thank you!

Great Introduction Class

I really enjoyed the class. New to spinning and all the tools that can go along with the craft, I really loved getting an introduction into how to use a blending board. I have built my own board and I am happy to say I have been much more successful after taking this class in making wonderful rolags. I am so happy I took this class and learned how to use the board correctly. An in person class would have likely been much more fun, but I still highly recommend this class.
