Sling Bag: Making Solid Granny Triangles
$100.00
A virtual class with Ramalakshmi Pasumarthy
Jan 14, 10:00am-12:00pm and Jan 15, 10:00am-12:00pm CST
Designer bags and crochet are both important in fashion, and you don’t need to be a fashionista to take advantage of the trends. With Ramalakshmi’s guidance, you can create a unique and stylish bag (or two) that will turn heads and have all the polish of designer originals — without their price-tags.
Class sessions will be recorded and remain accessible online to registered students of the class for 4 weeks following the event.

Description
Crochet bag-making with solid granny triangles gives a unique outcome. These triangle motifs use a new technique to enable a smooth transition between the rounds.
Prepare for constructing the bag in class by making 16 triangles following the handouts’ written and video instructions. We’ll join the triangles to create the bag, and learn to make a base for a roomy bag. The bag strap is worked separately and can be attached permanently to the bag or made detachable. Tips on how to make a firm, sturdy, non-stretchy strap will be shared.
We will conclude with an interactive discussion on the possibilities of using Granny triangles in various other projects.
