Double Knit in Color
An in-person class with Jill Bigelow Suttell
Nov 12, 9:00am-12:00pm PST
Learn basic double knitting techniques and start this cozy DK hat.
Double-knitting is a unique method of making a fabric with no ‘wrong’ side. Significantly different from the standard intarsia and Fair Isle colorwork, double-knitting makes a pattern on both sides of the fabric with the colors inverted.
You’ll learn 2-color cast-on for double-knitting, get comfortable with the techniques involved, then move into colorwork, and end with decreases in pattern. We’ll practice on scrap yarn and then start a hat (pattern included).
