Sashiko is traditional Japanese embellishment using a running stitch of heavy white cotton on indigo fabric. It is often stitched onto conventional American homemade items. We will start at the beginning with a pre-printed Sashiko fabric and threads. Discovering all about needles and thimbles is also part of the fantastic workshop.

Mending is a wonderful way to work with traditional Japanese Boro stitches as you transform torn or distressed garments, homewares, and other textiles into beautiful new fashions. We will work on mending holes and tears, completing two projects during the workshop.

A $35 kit is required. The fee will be collected in class. Correct change is appreciated.
Kit contains: Written Instructions, Fabric patches, Sashiko needle, Thread, and Use of Sashiko Templates Embroidery & Sashiko Patterns
