Fair Isle Tams: How Color is Used in Fair Isle Knitting

Well organised, step by step process. We learned about the specific characteristics of Fair Isle knitting. A class kit was included, and Janine kindly gave me the details of the yarns included in my colour choice so I could source them in Australia. (Kits are only sent to US residents.)
We were sent off to play with our colours and create four possible colourways for the main OXO band. Janine then provided a slide show discussing what we all did, asking each knitter which one they liked the best. This enabled us to see how others in the class developed their ideas using the same colours.
We then developed possibilities for the peerie band and the ribbing, and swatched them also. In the final session we worked on the wheel, and lots more beside.
I had to watch all the sessions from the recordings after the event due to time zone differences. But this worked well. I felt part of the class, even though I was not on the zoom calls live. I especially appreciate having access to the classes for two weeks. It gave me time to watch them all twice and take many notes.
I feel equipped and ready to put my ideas into practice and knit my first tam using everything I've learnt in this class. I thoroughly enjoyed the class and learnt a lot.
Like Jessie, I'm looking forward to taking more classes from Janine in the future.

I thoroughly enjoyed this class! The material covered was exactly as advertised, and the presentation was well-organized. I also love my yarn. Janine did a fantastic job with the technology, too. I have one small suggestion (not a criticism though): in the initial introduction to Fair Isle and Fair Isle knitting, I suggest adding a few slides of Fair Isle/Shetland/Fair Isle knitting, rather than just looking at Janine (lovely though she is). I hope to take more from Janine in the future.
