Textured stitches create a surface pattern in a knit — Texture. Jane also uses them with Purpose as practical design applications like her knit-on button bands — Placement. See how she uses stitch textures in her designs — Patterns.
Class sessions will be recorded and remain accessible online to registered students of the class for 14 days following the event.

Description
Teaching from her Sydney studio allows you to see how stitch patterns are incorporated into Jane’s designs. Explore some of her favorite stitch patterns from Basket Stitch and Mock Rib to Cables, jog in place to make a Bobble, use increases and decreases to create Bell Stitch, and travel onto working paired decrease-increase shaping to create a built-in Shawl collar. Each of the 4 class swatches combine three elements: a stitch pattern, a cable, and a reversible stitch for a button-band.
The techniques and tricks Jane incorporates into her designs include working the button band along with the fronts of a garment. You’ll have time to try it all and be ready to add these knitter-friendly details to your knits.
Special skills or knowledge needed to take this workshop:
Students need to be confident working stockinette stitch and cables; the charts for the class supported by written instructions.
