If you just use your serger to finish edges, join Jenn for this fun class. She’ll show you how to add functional and decorative details to your next garment.
Start by examining your serger presser foot and identifying the guidelines that help to create an accurate seam allowance. Then, work on some surface embellishments including pintucks and faux seams created with the flatlock stitch. See how easy it is to create ruffles, decorative elastic trim, and cording. Use the cording to create a drawstring finish for neckline or hem edges.
Learn how to gather the edge of your curved hem to make pressing it into place a snap. Then treat the hem to a ‘not so blind’ blind hem. Plus, you’ll learn how to make an elastic waistband with no casing required. For this technique, we’ll be use Cut Through – Sew Through Elastic so you can customize the width of your waistband, too.
