Description

Take time for happy feet! Learn a simple formula for knitting custom socks from the top down complete with a heel flap, gusset, and grafted toe (it’s magic!). We will use worsted-weight yarn for class, but you can repeat the process with any gauge of yarn to make socks for feet of any size feet. The stitch numbers change, but the key relationships (portion of total stitches used for the heel, rates of increase and decrease, etc.) are the same. That’s the power of a formula, and this one is short and sweet. Soon it will be yours: simple enough to tweak, simple enough to remember.

You can make a sock for yourself with homework between class sessions or speed things up with a miniature version to learn the techniques on a smaller scale. You can use your preferred method for knitting small circumferences in the round: double-pointed, magic loop, or 2 circular needles. Kira will share her tips that make knitting with dpns easier.

With a little practice and this formula firmly in mind, you will always be ready to knit a sock, at home or on the road.

Special skills or knowledge needed to take this workshop:
Must be comfortable knitting in the round with your choice of double-pointed, magic loop, or 2 circular needles.
