Give your hands a break! Learn how to knit with more than one color at a time in the efficient and easy Portuguese Style. Join André and get started on a lovely cowl as you learn.
Class sessions for this class will not be recorded as per the wishes of the instructor.
Colorwork is one of many ways that the Portuguese Style of knitting shines. Learn how to strand colors as you knit typical Portuguese motifs (tiles, tapestries…).
André will address all aspects of working with colors:
* Color theory
* Color dominance and how to use it to make a motif pop out of the work
* How to catch floats behind the work
* How to use the Portuguese Style to maintain a constant and perfect tension on both yarns.
After a bit of practice, you will begin making a stranded cowl designed by André.
Special skills or knowledge needed to take this workshop:
Previous experience in Stranded Colorwork and Portuguese Knitting is preferred, but there will be time in the first session for a brief introduction/review of Portuguese Knitting using one color.
