If you’ve always wanted to get into double-knitting, or design, or double-knitting design, get an easy start with a double-knit hat of your own design!
Alasdair will teach you the basics of double-knitting flat to create your gauge swatch (and offer tips and tricks to improve your fabric if you’re already familiar with double-knitting), then give you a series of charts and pointers for designing a double-knit piece worked in the round. You’ll plan out the cozy, colorful hat of your dreams, then cast on in the round to begin. When we reconvene a week later, you’ll plan the crown and learn a series of double-knit decreases, after which point you’ll be able to finish your custom designed double-knit hat, which you can wear or gift with pride!
