Description
This style of double-knitting was one of Alasdair’s earliest developments and is included in both of his books, but aside from an appearance in a previous version of the Texture in Double-knitting workshop, it has never made a proper appearance until now.
Marling is the act of working two yarns together as one; it can be done alongside double-knitting to add texture, stability, and the illusion of a third color. In this workshop, you’ll learn the ins and outs of combining marled garter stitch with double-knit colorwork.
Special skills or knowledge needed to take this class:
You should be comfortable with modern (two colors at once) double-knitting from recent experience. You should also be comfortable following knitting charts.
Supply List
• 2 distinct solid colors (1 light, 1 darker) of classic DK- to worsted-weight yarn
• A pair of straight or circular needles in the size appropriate for the yarn
Knitting Basics: Sharp scissors, Notebook, Pen or pencil with eraser, Stitch markers, Tapestry needles (large and small), Tape measure, Small calculator, Needles and crochet hooks of various sizes
