Applying Ergonomics to Your Knitting

Technique analysis to improve efficiency and comfort while knitting. Practical portion includes knitting to use various techniques presented in class.
Who doesn’t want to knit more efficiently and more comfortably? This 2-part class explores common techniques that knitters have adopted that get in the way of both of these. You’ll learn strategies to improve technique, posture, and overall comfort while knitting. You’ll practice these techniques in class and during our break so you can bring what you’ve learned back for part 2.
Special skills or knowledge needed to take this class:
Appropriate for all skill levels. Knitting charts will be shown and discussed. Knowledge of how to read a chart is helpful but not essential.
__Students are asked to bring light-colored, worsted-weight yarn (4 oz. is sufficient)
__Needles appropriate for yarn
__A bath-sized towel
__Materials to take notes if you wish
__Knitting Basics: Sharp scissors, Notebook, Pen or pencil with eraser, Stitch markers, Tapestry needles (large and small), Tape measure, Small calculator, Needles and crochet hooks of various sizes
