Learn to knit from the neck down including stitch patterns, raglan options and design ideas.
Learn the basic techniques for knitting from the top down. We’ll jump right in and start working on a small sweater that might fit a 1-year-old or Teddy Bear.
Barry will talk about variations, different techniques, and ways to knit from the top down. He will cover various increases, yarn selection, a bit of math, and so much more. When class is over, you will have an understanding of the constructions to complete the sample so you can work a top-down sweater from scratch using YOUR measurements.
Special skills or knowledge needed to take this class:
Basic cast on skills and knowledge of knit/purl.
__About 250 yds of DK or heavier yarn and circular and straight needles to match. If you feel like experimenting and striping then have several colors of matching gauge.
__8 stitch markers
__Knitting Basics: Sharp scissors, Notebook, Pen or pencil with eraser, Tapestry needles (large and small), Tape measure, Small calculator, Needles and crochet hooks of various sizes
