Supply list
•Scissors for fabric
•Acrylic quilter’s ruler (Tara prefers 6″ by 24″ for cutting yardage), rotary cutter, and mat
•Scissors for cutting template plastic
•Cotton Thread (50-wt.)
•Hand-sewing needles size 6–8 (a variety pack of Sharps or Embroidery needles work well, too)
•Marking pencil/chalk for both light and dark fabrics. Mechanical pencil recommended.
•1 sheet plastic template material, I highly recommend the thicker acrylic. Plastic file folders work as well.
•Thin Sharpie or other permanent marker
•Optional: Thimble, Needle threader, Thread conditioner
•Assorted fabrics in a variety of light, medium, and dark colors. Prints, solids, or a mix of both work well for this block. For each star, you need 2 strips 3 1/8 ” to 3-1⁄4” wide by 15” long: Cut dark fabrics at 3 1/8 ” by 15” long. Cut light fabrics at 3-1⁄4″ by 15” long
•For the hexagons you will need pieces at least 7” square.
