Learn to build basic Entrelac skills with tips and techniques specific to this stitch pattern.
Let’s begin our journey by reviewing the basics to make sure you have all the right-leaning and left-leaning triangles and squares solidly in your Entrelac toolbelt.

Included will be lots of ssk and p2tog decreases, some kfb and pfb increases, plenty of picked-up stitches (both knitwise and purlwise), and, if you’re game, the valuable treasure of knitting backward is also yours!

Class sessions will be recorded and remain accessible online to registered students of the class for 14 days following the event.

Description

We’ll try different ways to start Entrelac pieces and discuss which beginnings pair with which projects. Swatching will be done both flat and in the round, to gain an understanding of what might need to be done differently depending on which of these roads you take. Building on the basic Entrelac skills, you’ll be introduced to specific techniques to work this unique stitch pattern: increases and decreases, neck and armhole shaping, seamless seams, and clean color changes.

Finally, you’ll be able to swatch, measure, plan, map, and execute a completely seamless garment. Whether following an existing pattern to the letter, tweaking it here and there, or stepping completely into uncharted territory, you will be well equipped to continue successfully onward with your Entrelac journey.

Special skills or knowledge needed to take this workshop:
Student must be comfortable with knitting and purling, with ssk and p2tog decreases, and with kfb and pfb increases.
