The Very Basics of Double Knit in Color
With Jill Bigelow-Suttell
Aug 7, 10:00am-12:00pm CDT
Learn the basics of 2-color double knitting. It’s easy, and the fabric is beautiful—on both sides.
Class sessions will be recorded and remain accessible online to registered students of the class for 14 days following the event.
Double-knitting is a unique method of making a fabric with no ‘wrong’ side. Significantly different from the standard intarsia and Fair Isle methods of colorwork, double-knitting makes a pattern on both sides of the fabric with the colors inverted. You’ll learn 2-color cast-on for double-knitting, get comfortable with the techniques involved, then move into following a chart and creating a motif with the double-knit technique.
