Creating a fractal colorway – how to prepare the fiber using a blending board, drum carder, and hackle with solid colors – will be demonstrated.
You will learn now how to card a batt with layered colors so you will wind up with stripes; how to pull rolags off a drum carder; how to create roving from a blending board; and how to play with different colors on a hackle. You’ll even see how making fauxlaugs is a great way to prep the fiber. The schedule allows time so you can create create your own fractal blends.
Next we will go through the structure of the fractal yarn and spend time spinning. We will also discuss non-traditional fractals using crepe and cable structures.
