Knowing how to care for (wash and block) your handmade items can mean the difference between a ho-hum “yeah, I made it myself” and an oh-wow “YES!! I MADE IT MYSELF!!” We’ll cover basic “why”s and “how-to”s for washing (with an explanation of those cryptic laundry symbols), wet blocking, and steam blocking your knit and crocheted items. We’ll also look at a sampling of blocking tools and go through a basic tutorial on different types of fiber.
