Spinning Wheel Denim Quilt
With Sandra Chandler
Jan 9 10:00am-12:00pm and Jan 9, 4:00-6:00pm CST
Even when your well-loved jeans can’t be worn any longer, you can create a quilt that celebrates their character in home decor — as a blanket, throw, or cushion.
Class sessions will be recorded and remain accessible online to registered students of the class for 14 days following the event.
This workshop is designed to teach the tricks to working with curves as you create a denim quilt. This simple quilt block offers plenty of opportunity to stitch straight lines and curves, build different blocks, and make quilts of different sizes based on the number of squares you choose to make.
Learn about the history of denim and which type of denim is optimal for quilting. You’ll learn how to deconstruct denim jeans and up-cycle them into a fun and easy, modern and rugged quilt.
Sandra will talk about the different techniques to put your quilt together — such as the Big Stitch method – and how to assemble the blocks to create wheels or curves.
An $11 kit is required for this class: Order your kit right away to allow time for shipping.
