Color Inside the Square and Texture, Too
With Linda Pietz
Oct 9, 1:00-3:00pm CDT & Oct 10, 1:00-3:00pm CDT
Pin Loom Weaving is fun; now let’s take it to the next level. Learn to combine both color and texture for squares as unique as your imagination.
Class sessions will be recorded and remain accessible online to registered students of the class for 14 days following the event.
Learn to personalize pin-woven squares using your own yarn and weave combinations. Dive into that stash to come up with surprisingly beautiful colorways and textures.
Using a fine yarn to weave a square, add a variegated worsted-weight between the rows; your pattern will slowly emerge — as you follow the chart— in a square with one side the reverse of the other. The hardest part will be deciding which side you like best.
Learn the 3-to-1 weave. Using simple directions, weave a heart design into your square. Make an afghan with each square showing its heart and give it to someone special.
Perhaps weaving a tartan or a hounds-tooth pattern appeals to you. With the hounds-tooth square, learn to make a two-layer warp.
To top it all off, grab two very different variegated yarns and learn another variation on warping. The results will surprise you!
It is time to take your Pin Loom Weaving to the next level, and Linda will help you create blocks that are unique to you!
