Writing a pattern for hand knits is simply another type of technical writing. Once you know the standards, it becomes less intimidating! Although there are many styles of pattern writing, they all include the same key elements and content. Heather will cover what information should be provided in your patterns and will go over different ways of presenting directions. This is a writing class, not a design class.

Good Introduction

Very much a lecture format, I found this class a good overview of the specific items that distinguish a so-so pattern and a fun pattern. Even if I was not thinking about writing my own patterns, this class is useful for novice knitters to make better choices about the patterns they select.
