Description
Learn to cross stitch on a mesh knit fabric. When a knit garment or accessory becomes the canvas for cross-stitch embroidery, it creates bold and exciting results.
• Learn how to create firm and uniform cross stitches over knits
• Learn blocking techniques applicable for this, or similar designs
• Get inspired by the presentation of multiple samples in array of fibers and colors.
Note: pre-class work is required.
Special skills or knowledge needed to take this class:
Students need to know the basics: how to cast on, knit, purl, and yarn-over.
Supply List
• Main yarn – about 75 yards of Cotton DK yarn in Cream or White
• US 6 (4.0mm) 24” long circular needle, OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
• About 20 yards each of fingering-weight yarn in deep pink, medium pink, light pink, green, and light green
• 2 Removable stitch markers
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Knitting Basics: Notebook, Pen or pencil with eraser, Tape measure, Small calculator, Needles and crochet hooks of various sizes
