Description

Catherine is moving on from Dorset buttons to traditional early Shirtlace buttons (sometimes called Shirtwaist buttons). Dating back to the Edwardian era, these buttons were made to withstand its new standards of cleanliness!

Shirtlace bottoms are more difficult to master than Dorset buttons, so the class is recommended for buttoners with some experience making basic Dorsets. Catherine will take you through the steps required for the three variations. Start with the Star Shirtlace, progress to the Austrian Shirtlace, and finish with the slightly trickier, but most popular, Lace Shirtwaist! As you will see on the Supply list, the buttons can be made in 2 sizes; choose one or try both!

There is an optional $18 kit for this class.
To purchase kit, Email Catherine at [email protected] to order.
The kit will include four 1-1/2” plastic rings, spool 3-weight perle cotton, size 16 needle, beeswax and full color printed handout
Note: Due to time and shipping constraints, kits are not available to people living outside the United States.
With a little patience and a large dollop of perseverance, you can conquer them all.
