Dorset Buttons – a Traditional English Craft

I really enjoyed this class with Catherine Redford. She's a very good instructor. Explains everything very nicely and gives great demonstrations. I highly recommend this class.

I learned and honed skills in this class and feel confident in making basic Dorset buttons. Catherine is a wonderful teacher and a delightful video presence. If you have a chance to spend time with her, I highly recommend that you do so.

The class moved along at a nice pace, and the instructor has an engaging presentation style. At the end of the class I had three finished buttons and felt competent to make buttons for my own garments

I liked the hands-on, and the history of the buttons and how they came to be was a great piece! I will try those smaller ones once I have the bigger ones down pat!

Catherine is a very patient teacher, and extremely organized for on-line learning. Our two hour class was well paced, plenty of time for questions and repeat demonstration of the techniques. The presentation Catherine had prepared was fascinating, lots of history and general information that was very useful. Dorset buttons are very addictive- I’ve made all of the rings I’d ordered and am now waiting for more supplies.

A wonderful class, learned a beautiful art.
