With Esther Rodgers
Mar 3, 9:00am-12:00pm & Mar 4, 9:00am-12:00pm
Want to play with stripes and color? This is a great class for all sorts of spinners: from Spindle and Wheels Spinners, to ultra-textured art-yarn spinners, and traditional lace-weight spinners! Explore the structure of the fractal ply in this hands-on class: from the traditional 2-ply fractal using a hand-dyed top to crepe and cable fractal plying with colorways you create.
In this full-day class, there’s time to explore the structure of the fractal ply. First, start with the traditional 2-ply fractal by working with a braid of hand-dyed top in a gradient progression. Next, learn tips for creating your own striping colorways on blending boards, hackles, and drum carders. We’ll go on to experiment with layered plying and colorplay in crepe and cable fractal plying.
