An in-person class with Catherine Redford

Add to your button-making experience with Shirtlace buttons. A more modern innovation than the Dorset buttons, Shirtlace buttons date back to the Edwardian era at the beginning of the twentieth century.

Start with the Star Shirtlace, progress to the Austrian Shirtlace, and finish with the slightly trickier, but most popular, Lace Shirtwaist. Although experience making Dorset buttons is helpful, Catherine says it is not necessary; you can start your journey with Shirtlace buttons.

First-timer or experienced button-maker, you will finish our time together as a fully trained buttoner!

There is a required $7 materials fee for this class which will be collected in person by your instructor.
Materials included:

• Rings
• Needles
• Beeswax

Supply List
• Scissors
• 3-weight perle cotton or fingering-weight yarn (minimum 20 yards)
