Description
Take a look at how darts can improve the fit of your knits. Even if you’re not buxom, learn to fit your bosom buddies (or family members or relatives). Learn how to translate this shaping technique from sewing terms to knitting. Learn how to place it correctly, how much to add and where, and how to do it in a patterned stitch. Translate the basic principles to beer bellies and dowager humps.
Special skills or knowledge needed to take this class
Must have made garments before and have an idea about very basics of working short rows.
Supply List
• Another 2 colors of same weight yarn as the homework, about 10 yards each.
• Tape measure.
• Very narrow masking tape, like 1/8 inch quilters tape – available at Staples or art supply store.
• SQUARE graph paper, about 6 boxes per inch.
• Pencils, preferably in a few colors, eraser.
• Either bobbie-pins or plastic coilless pins like those from Clover
• Knitting Basics: Sharp scissors, Notebook, Pen or pencil with eraser, Stitch markers, Tapestry needles (large and small), Tape measure, Small calculator, Needles and crochet hooks of various sizes
Limited pre-class work required.
