Description

Sewing and knitting make terrific craft companions. Whether you’re just starting out or a seasoned stitcher, this uncomplicated garment from 100 Acts of Sewing is just the thing to whip up over a weekend. Students will learn how to cut pattern pieces, finish seams and hem, and make bias tape for finishing the neckline. The size-inclusive pattern runs from XS to 5X.

Special skills or knowledge needed to take this class
While this is a beginning sewing class, some previous experience using a sewing machine is necessary.

There is a required kit for this class. The $18 kit fee will be collected by your instructor during class. The kit includes Shirt pattern

Limited pre-class work required.

Supply List
• 1.5 yards of lightweight woven fabric like a cotton lawn or voile
• Fat quarter or 0.5 yard of fabric for bias tape
• Matching thread
• Sewing Basics: Needles, Thread, Sharp scissors, Notebook, Pen or pencil with eraser, Tape measure, Seam ripper, Pins

Required equipment
• Sewing machine. Bring your own OR a limited number are available to rent from Sonya for in-class use for $15. You must reserve the machine in advance. Follow the link in the order receipt to reserve your machine.
