Dora Ohrenstein is a leading crochet designer whose work has been published in books and magazines both nationally and internationally. She is known especially for her work in fashion crochet and for her in-depth books. Her most recent, Crochet Every Way Stitch Dictionary, is the first stitch dictionary to include shaping for every single stitch pattern. Dora enjoys breaking down technical skills and construction principals into step-by-step methods that are easy for the student to grasp and master. She aims to empower the crocheter to be more creative, have more fun, and to meet new challenges (like making garments) fearlessly! Dora also has a special interest in crochet history. She has carried out research in European museums and in Central Asia, and has written numerous articles on the topic. Dora was a professional singer and she teaches singing at AMDA in New York City.
