About Sonya Philip
Sonya Philip is an artist, designer, and teacher. Sonya started 100 Acts of Sewing as a challenge to make 100 dresses in a year while documenting the process. Since then she has made it her mission to convince people to sew their own clothes. When not covered in bits of thread, she can be found baking or knitting another cardigan. Sonya lives in San Francisco with her family and two naughty terriers. Her book, The Act of Sewing: How to Make and Modify Clothes to Wear Every Day, will be available the end of April.
