Yvonne Tate of Vonne's Crochet & Beading + Maille learned to both knit and crochet from her Mom at an early age, and picked up crochet upon her mother's passing. In her honor, she continues to share her love of crochet through teaching. She became a Craft Yarn Council Certified Crochet Teacher in 2003 as part of the inaugural class from The New York City Crochet Guild and is a current member of the Crochet Guild of America. She has written articles featured in their Chain Link newsletter. She has recently taught at Vogue Knitting Live's 10th Anniversary event, as well as online for Fiberworld 2020, and previously for DC37's Saturday Activity Program for the Municipal Worker's Union on multiple occasions in the past decade. She has also demonstrated and designed for local groups and yarn shops, including NYCCG, Bead Biz, The Yarn Tree, Slip Stitch Needlecraft, Alex Creates, Neighborhood Fiber Co., and Birch Hollow Fibers. She supports The Special Olympics, Operation Gratitude, the Hyperbolic Coral Crochet Reef Project, Hats4theHomeless (now Care For TheHomeless), and has even designed a crochet block featured on Warm Up America! She loves working with and designing for indie yarn dyers and is looking forward to a variety of opportunities to come!
